Gransfors Natural Whetstone
The Gransfors Natural Whetstone is comprised of two unique natural materials which are chosen to best supply the needs of coarse and fine grinding.
The coarse side is made from a sandstone from Orsa with a grain from 120-200 grit. This sandstone has been used as a sharpening stone since the 1500s and its qualities of a coarse slightly porous surface work well to grind and edge back to its original geometry and begin sharpening before final honing.
The fine side is made from a fine-grained slate from Los. This is a unique material only found here and has been used as a whetstone since the late 1800s. Featuring a smooth and hard surface the Los stone has a grain size of between 500-1000 grit. The fin-grained, smooth surface has the qualities to achieve and extremely sharp edge with a good bite.
The Whetstone is user friendly and easy to hold with a firm grip making it easy to sharpen an edge by following the existing bevel and grind angle.
