WHAT IS FLEECE?

Fleece is a soft, warm, and lightweight fabric, usually made from synthetic materials like polyester. It’s engineered to replicate the insulating qualities of wool, offering warmth without the extra weight. Fleece is breathable, quick-drying, and easy to care for, making it ideal for outdoor clothing like jackets, pullovers, and blankets. Its versatility and comfort make it popular for layering, as it adds warmth without bulk.

Fleece comes in various weights. lightweight, midweight, and heavyweight catering to different activities and weather. Lightweight fleece is suitable for active wear or as a base layer, while heavyweight fleece provides more warmth for colder conditions.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A FLEECE GARMENT?

Fleece garments are perfect for cooler weather or cold climates, offering a great balance of warmth, comfort, and breathability. Fleece is ideal as a mid-layer between a moisture-wicking base layer and an insulated outer layer, especially for winter activities or snowy conditions. In mild to cool weather, lightweight fleece pullovers are a comfortable choice for casual wear or active pursuits. The soft, fuzzy texture of fleece not only provides insulation but also adds coziness, making it a go-to for layering.

IS FLEECE CLOTHING WATERPROOF AND WINDPROOF?

Fleece is inherently resistant to absorbing moisture due to its synthetic fibers but is not naturally waterproof. Some fleece garments are treated with water-repellent finishes or feature additional layers for enhanced water resistance. For windproofing, softshell fleece jackets often include wind-blocking membranes, making them more suitable for blustery conditions. For maximum warmth and comfort, look for fleece with close-fitting cuffs and adjustable hems to prevent cold air from sneaking in.
