A spot of red, for the reason nobody can quite explain

Trout show a persistent liking for a touch of red on a nymph, and the red tungsten bead puts that trigger right at the head where a fish looks first. It works best in the top of the water column and in shallower, faster water where the colour still reads as red; go deep enough and red loses its intensity and turns dark, which is a strength if a subtle silhouette is what you want. Fish it as the change-up when the naturals are not working and something needs to provoke a reaction.
