Rubber legs keep moving when the fly is not

The point of a big searching nymph is that a fish notices it from a distance, and rubber legs do that better than any amount of flash. They pulse on the drift and keep working through the pause, so the fly reads as alive even when it is sitting on the bottom between lifts. This is the heavy end of the range, built on a long-shank hook with a tungsten bead to hold the deepest, fastest water. Use it as the anchor with something smaller above.
