An excellent pun, and no joke as a fly. This is a bottom bouncer, made for straight-line nymphing where you keep in touch with the fly the whole way down the run and feel the take rather than watch for it. There is no indicator involved and no slack to absorb the moment a fish takes. The amber tone is the one for tea-coloured and tannin-stained water, where a cold grey nymph disappears entirely.
