Krystal flash is crimped rather than flat, so it breaks light up and throws it in several directions at once instead of giving one hard reflection. On a small wet fly that reads as movement and life rather than as metal, which suits fish that have grown wary of obvious flash. Swing it down and across, or hang it as the top fly above something heavier. A good size to fish when full streamers are too much and a nymph is not enough.
