It imitates nothing, and fish eat it anyway

The peacock and red floss body was never meant to match a hatch. It is an attractor, and one of the most consistently effective ever tied: something about the banded body and the white calf wing pulls fish up in fast, broken water where they have a fraction of a second to decide. That white wing is also the reason to carry it. On a pocket-water run in dappled light you can track it where a drab dry disappears. Fish it as a searching pattern, or as the top fly with a nymph underneath.
