Claret has a long record on Australian water, and on an emerger silhouette it is a genuinely useful change from the standard olives and tans. Fish it when duns and sedges are about but the obvious colours are getting refused, or through the evening when a darker body reads better against a bright sky. Same principle as every Klinkhammer: the abdomen hangs under the film where an emerging insect actually sits, and the parachute post holds the front end up where you can see it.
