Body under the surface, wing on top, and fish cannot leave it alone

Hans van Klinken bent a hook on the River Glomma in 1984 so the abdomen would hang below the film while the parachute hackle and post held the front on top. That silhouette, an insect half out of its shuck and going nowhere, is the trigger. The caddis green body puts it squarely on sedge, which hatch in numbers on most Australian streams through the warmer evenings. Fish it dead drift to rising fish, or use it as the dry in a klink-and-dink rig where the buoyant post carries a light nymph beneath.
