Still the answer to an olive hatch, 170 years on

Canon William Greenwell came off the Tweed in May 1854 beaten by a pale olive hatch, took a natural to the fly dresser James Wright, and between them they built this. It has been the standard olive imitation in Britain ever since, and it travels: the olives on Australian streams are close enough that the same fly does the same job. Fish it to rising fish through an olive hatch, or as a searching dry when duns are about but nothing is showing consistently.
