A cone head does what a bead cannot

The tungsten cone at the front is the difference between this and a standard bugger: it carries more weight in a shape that noses down and cuts through water rather than dragging, so the fly gets deep and then jigs on every pause. Olive is the natural end of the range and the one to start with, reading as a mudeye, a damsel nymph or a small dark fish depending on how you move it. Strip it, swing it, or dead drift it deep on a long leader.
