Autumn colours, for autumn fish

The fall dressing mixes rust, orange and brown, and it comes into its own late in the season when browns turn aggressive and territorial ahead of the spawn run. Fish in that mood often hit a streamer out of irritation rather than hunger, and a fly carrying warm autumn tones seems to provoke it more reliably than a natural olive. Cast it in tight to banks and undercuts, strip it away fast, and be ready for the take to come as a solid stop.
