Once the water carries colour or the light drops away, a natural shrimp stops being visible before a fish gets close enough to eat it. Pink solves that without going all the way to a fluoro attractor, so the fly still reads as food rather than a lure. It suits a run-out tide pushing dirty water, overcast days and the hour either side of dark. Same light weighting as the tan, so it stays fishable over weed rather than snagging in it.
