An odd colour, and that is exactly the point

Violet is not a colour trout see much of on a river bed, and on pressured fish that unfamiliarity is worth something in itself. Pair it with CdC, which breathes and pulses on the slowest drift, and you have a nymph that offers movement and a colour nothing else in the box is showing. Keep it for the fish that have refused the olives, the hare's ears and the pink, and fish it slow enough for the CdC to do its work.
