Hare's fur is the scruffiest dubbing there is, and the guard hairs standing out from the body suggest legs and movement in a way slick synthetic bodies do not. Adding pink to that gives you both halves of the argument: an imitative body a fish can inspect, with enough of a trigger to get noticed in the first place. A good compromise fly for water that is neither gin clear nor properly coloured, and a reliable point fly when you are not sure which way to go.
