Hare's fur ribbed with copper wire has been catching trout since the early 1900s, and it stays in every box because it never commits to being one thing: the guard hairs standing out from the body read as legs on a mayfly nymph, a caddis larva or a water boatman depending on how a fish looks at it. The orange tungsten bead adds a contrast point that pulls attention in stained or broken water while the body stays natural. Fish it on the point of a two-nymph rig where you need weight and a bit of visibility.
