The one for after dark

Big brown trout do a great deal of their feeding at night, and after dark a fish is working on movement and outline rather than detail. Black gives the hardest outline against a night sky seen from below, and the weighted head means you can feel where the fly is when you cannot see it. Swing it slowly across the tail of a pool, or work it back along a bank in the dark. Takes at night tend to arrive as a heavy pull rather than a tap.
