This is the Greenwell's dressing rebuilt on a parachute hackle, wound flat around an upright post instead of collared around the hook. The difference matters more than it sounds: the body drops into the surface film rather than perching above it on hackle points, so the fly presents the silhouette of a dun that has not quite got airborne. That is often what a fussy fish is actually taking. It also lands upright every cast and the post keeps it visible in poor light. Reach for it over the standard Glory on flat water and for fish that have already refused one.
