The dry that does two jobs at once

A foam underwing gives this one far more lift than its size suggests, which is what makes it a genuine dry-dropper platform: it will carry a size 12 or smaller tungsten bead nymph without being dragged under. Fish it as the top fly over broken water and let the nymph do the searching, or run it on its own when fish are up and taking terrestrials off the surface. Tied on a Tiemco 9300 heavy-gauge dry fly hook, so it holds up to a decent fish rather than opening out.
