Five by five is radio-speak for a signal coming through perfectly, and that is a fair description of this one on the water. The foam underwing keeps it riding high and easy to track through riffles and glare, and it carries enough lift to suspend a size 12 or smaller tungsten bead nymph beneath it if you want to fish two flies. Tied on a heavy-gauge dry fly hook, so it stands up to a solid fish rather than opening out on the strike.
