The olive one, for the days that look too rough to fish

Blue winged olives are contrary insects: they hatch hardest in the weather most anglers give up on, in drizzle and cloud and wind, and their duns ride the surface far longer than they do on a bright day. That is when a small olive parachute becomes the safest fly in the box. The Dead Cert takes that colour and sits it flush in the film on a heavy-gauge hook, so it holds a decent fish. Fish it on the drab afternoons when nothing much looks to be happening and the rise starts anyway.
