It reads close enough to the real thing for fish looking hard in clear water, and it still holds its visibility once a bit of colour comes into the river. That range is why it earns a spot through autumn and winter whatever the water is doing. Fish it dead drift under an indicator, or on a short dropper behind a heavy nymph so it tracks along the gravel where loose eggs actually travel. If you carry one egg colour, make it this one.
