What a quill body gives you

A quill body is a single stripped stem wound up the hook, and it gives fine natural segmentation that dubbing cannot: slim, hard-edged and slightly translucent, the way a real abdomen looks with light behind it. Paired with CdC it hangs in the film rather than on it. Emergers are the gap in most fly boxes, and this covers duns, mayflies and caddis all at once.
