Contrast, not imitation

Same heavily dressed construction, chosen for contrast rather than imitation. In broken white water a uniform fly disappears into the foam, and a red body under a pale wing gives a two-tone underside that still reads as something solid against all that movement. It works as a searching fly on its own and it will hold a small nymph beneath it. Use it where the water is loud and nothing is hatching.
