Land it hard

Big terrestrials do not land delicately. They hit the water with an audible plop, and trout that have learned what that sound means will turn and come looking, which is why this one is worth casting hard onto flat water rather than dropping softly. Once it lands the rubber legs keep working on their own in the smallest bit of surface movement, so the fly stays alive while you do nothing at all. Foam construction means it will not sink. Two tones give a dark underside to the fish and a paler deck to you.
