Density is the point

A caddis sits on the water as a solid tent, and from below a trout sees that shape as a dark block rather than as a set of details. A dense CdC wing gives that block; a sparse one gives a fish very little to commit to. That density is the whole idea here. Fish it dead drift, skitter it across the surface, or run it as the dry in a duo with a nymph below. Barbless.
