Chimney Rock | Ultralight Bivy Camping in Kosciuszko National Park
Join Chris on a solo overnight hike to Chimney Rock, a rugged lookout above the Tumut Valley with some of the best views in the Snowy Valleys.
The climb is short but steep, weaving through thick bush, loose rock, fallen trees and a narrow ridgeline before opening up to incredible panoramic views over the Tumut River, Blowering Dam, Batlow and the surrounding hills. Along the way, there's moss-covered forest, the call of lyrebirds, and plenty of scrambling as the track becomes increasingly rugged before the ultimate payoff of scenic views.
