Going smaller beats changing pattern

Small water, low and clear, and fish that have seen a few flies already: that is what this is for. Dropping a size or two is often more effective than changing pattern altogether, because the problem is rarely what the nymph looks like and usually how big it is. The micro gold nugget bead adds just enough weight to get it under the surface and turn the hook over, without the heavy front end that makes a small nymph fish unnaturally.
