The fall dressing mixes rust, orange and brown, and it comes into its own late in the season when browns turn aggressive and territorial. Fish in that mood often hit a streamer out of irritation rather than hunger, and a fly carrying warm autumn tones seems to provoke it more reliably than a natural olive. Cast it in tight to banks and undercuts, strip it away fast, and be ready for the take to come as a solid stop.
