Czech-style nymphs solve a specific problem: getting a fly to the bottom of fast water and keeping it there long enough to matter. The weight sits along a curved hook rather than all in a bead at the front, so the fly holds a humped, level attitude down deep instead of hanging nose-first. Fish it on a short line almost directly below you, feeling for the take rather than watching for it. Copper is the warmer flash and does its best work in tinted water and flat light.
