Ultraviolet is the part of this fly you cannot see and the fish can, so the visible colour is really a decision about what you are comfortable tying on. This one is loud in both spectra: bright pink to your eye and high in UV to theirs. It was built for the clear water of the Taupo fishery, where the thinking was that when fish are being fussy, something unmissable can work better than something careful.
