The MSR Switch Stove System is a compact, all-in-one cook system built for everything from hiking trips to car camping.
Pat shares his first impressions of the MSR Switch, runs through what’s included and shows the main features of this stove system. The Switch packs the stove, pot stand, measuring cup, lid and stove inside the pot, with room for a small gas canister too. At around 350g for the complete system, it offers plenty of cooking versatility while remaining compact enough to throw in a hiking pack, camp box, boat or car.
A few features we like:
Built-in piezo igniter
Stable three-leg canister stand
Integrated fold-out pot supports for larger pots and pans
Secure pot-to-stove connection
Cork pot sleeve and folding handles
Compact, nested design
Good wind protection
Versatile enough for boiling water or cooking larger meals
Whether you're boiling water for a few coffees in the morning, preparing freeze-dried meals on the trail, or putting a bigger pot on for dinner, the Switch is a versatile little cook system.
