Chloe and Ellie recently set out on a bikepacking adventure from Wagga Wagga to Coolamon, starting their journey with a coffee at Meccanico Espresso + Wine. They crossed the Wiradjuri Bridge over the Murrumbidgee River, leaving Wagga Wagga behind. Before long, they were greeted by the first sea of yellow as their route, designed to avoid major roads, led them onto scenic gravel backroads for the roughly 60-kilometre ride to Coolamon.

Their two-day loop took them from Wagga Wagga through Marrar, arriving in Coolamon via Kindra Forest on day one. Day two brought them back to Wagga Wagga, passing through Charles Sturt University along the way. The route prioritised gravel roads, with a few paved sections here and there, making for a more adventurous ride.

Upon arriving in Coolamon, they picked up a cheese box from the Coolamon Cheese Co. to enjoy on the verandah of the charming Q Cottage, a boutique holiday home in the heart of town. With its cozy atmosphere and convenient location near the main street and IGA, it was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of cycling.
