First Time Bikepacking to Huts, Rivers and Stunning Remote Gorges in Northern Kosciuszko
Join Chris Russell and first-time bikepacker Alex for an unforgettable overnight adventure through the remote of Northern Kosciuszko National Park. From iconic alpine huts and flowing rivers to breathtaking gorges and wide open plains, this ride showcases some of the most spectacular landscapes in the Australian High Country.
Starting at Long Plain Hut, the boys load up the bikes and head deep into the mountains, visiting places like Blue Waterholes, Nichols Gorge, Bill Jones Hut, Hainsworth Hut and Old Currango. Along the way there’s fast gravel descents, steep climbs, river crossings, incredible camping spots and plenty of laughs as Alex experiences bikepacking for the very first time.
With views across the Tantangara Plains, smooth alpine trails, historic huts and complete wilderness all around, this trip is a reminder of how much adventure you can pack into just a night away. Covering over 60km in less than two days, the journey highlights why bikepacking is such an incredible way to explore the Australian Alps.
If you love bikepacking, camping, mountain biking, hiking, fly fishing country or exploring remote parts of Australia, this is one you’ll enjoy.
