A dry fly and an emerger at the same time

The Klinkhammer's trick is the curved hook. The abdomen hangs down through the film while the thorax and post stay above it, so a single fly is fishing as a dry and as an emerger at once, which is exactly what a trout sees during a hatch. The pink post is the reason to take this one over the standard: you can pick it out at fifty feet, in a bubble line, or skated at dusk when a natural post has disappeared.
