Sight is the first sense to fail a trout in dirty water and movement is the last, which is why a fly for coloured conditions should be built to pulse rather than to look correct. The CdC does that: it breathes on the slowest current and keeps moving even when the fly is holding still. A touch of flash gives something for a fish to find once it is close.
