Scruffy on purpose

Hare's ear fur is scruffy, uneven and slightly translucent, and under a parachute hackle that scruffiness is doing a job. A dun that has just come out of its shuck is not neat: it is still trailing bits of itself and sitting awkwardly low. A rough, fuzzy body reads as exactly that, where a smoothly dubbed one reads as an insect that has finished the job. Medium dun sizes, sitting low.
