Brass is roughly half the density of tungsten, and that is the entire reason to choose this one. It sinks at a controlled rate rather than plummeting, which lets a small nymph drift at something close to the speed of the water instead of dragging down and across it. In shallow runs and slower glides that natural drift is worth more than depth. The small tapered profile covers the smaller mayfly nymphs without committing to any one of them.
