Ultralight Bivy Camping | Hiking Big Talbingo Mountain Kosciuszko National Park

Bivy camping opens up endless opportunities to wedge yourself in any person-sized rock, ledge, or crevice. With a lightweight and minimal mindset, Chris hikes to the summit of Big Talbingo Mountain to unroll on the rocks and sleep under the stars. With breathtaking 360-degree views of Blowering Dam, Talbingo Dam, Jounama Peaks, Mount Jagungal, Tabletop Mountain, Tantagara Mountain, Kosciuszko Main Range etc., it’s a local bivy camp hidden gem. With only a 5km walk up the Talbingo Mountain Trail to the summit after parking at the base of Landers Falls, camping at the top of Big Talbingo Mountain is a must-see if you’re in the Snowy Valleys or passing through Tumut into Kosciuszko National Park.
