The colour the grass already is

Most hoppers on the bank are some version of green, and olive is the closest this pattern gets to the actual insect. It matters most on clear water and bright days, when a fish has time to look and a loud foam body starts to look like what it is. Nothing else about the design changes with the colour: the same foam that rides low and holds a nymph underneath, the same orange top that stays visible through chop and glare.
