Slow enough to feel wrong

A cased caddis builds a tube of grit and stick around itself and then hauls it slowly over the bottom, which means the imitation has to be fished slowly enough to feel wrong. That is the discipline this fly asks for. It comes into its own as a single nymph when you are polaroiding, working lake margins and back eddies in slightly deeper water and putting it in front of a fish you have actually spotted. Good on spooky ones.
