Men's Fit Guide

Though each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, Patagonia generalise their fit descriptions in four ways:

Formfitting: Conforms to the body’s contours.

Slim Fit: Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

Regular Fit: Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers.

Relaxed Fit: Drapes loosely on the body.

How to Measure

Sleeve: With elbow bent, measure from the center (back) of neck to elbow and down to wrist.

Chest/Bust: Measure around your chest/bust, just under armpit.

Waist: Measure around waist at the smallest circumference.

Hips: Stand, feet together, and measure around the largest circumference at hips.

Hands: Measure around the fullest part of the hand, not including thumb.

Inseam: Take a pair of pants that fit well and measure from the crotch to bottom of leg. All pants come with a finished hem.

Heading into the mountain ranges of Arthur's Pass National Park? Or hitting the slopes in Kurodake, Japan? Well, get ready to turn up the heat with this compressible, warmth-loving zip-neck.

Sure, Australia offers some amazing hiking, skiing, and orienteering, but if you're heading to some of the coldest climates you're going to need to be well equipped. That's why Patagonia Australia has created their warmest, most breathable Capilene Baselayer.

Not only is this Baselayer ideal for Australian winter extremes, let's face it, its definitely cold in some parts of Australia, such as the Snowy Mountains and parts of Victoria. But, for those overseas adventures in harsh climates, including alpine climbing, ski and snowboard terrains this baselayer proves perfect.

The micro-grid fleece interior of Patagonia's Capilene Thermal Weight gives you maximum warmth combined with the greatest breathability of any baselayer in our collection. Made with a low-bulk Polartec Power Grid fabric with Polygiene permanent odor control it is also Fair Trade Certified for sewing.

Soft, stretchy and compressible, Polartec Power Grid fabric has a smooth face that glides beneath layers and a brushed-fleece interior to warm your core, wick moisture and feel smooth against your skin. This fabric also has 30–92% recycled content.  Product features include a self-fabric backing on the collar that provides added comfort and a locker loop that lets you hang it to dry, a long center-front zipper for venting, full underarm gussets for unhindered shoulder mobility, elastic thumb loops to help cover your hands, flatlock seams that minimize chafing, offset shoulder and side seams that lie smoothly beneath pack straps, and a drop tail for additional coverage.
